Well we went our to Khao San Road last night which I guess used to be THE party place in Bangkok. I guess you used to be able to drink 'til dawn and then stumble home. Well, we saw plenty of stumbling but it shuts down at 1:30 am now so we had to leave a bit earlier than we did the night before!

This time we still had to take two cabs but we coordinated where we were getting dropped off so all of us were together. The only person who wasn't there was Leeanne who decided that she wanted to go to Cambodia and got on a bus earlier in the day.

We got to Khao San and it was already in full swing. Once everyone was there we stopped to get some food from the street vendors. Everyone found stuff they liked and for really good prices. Then it was off to find some of the infamous Thai Samsong Buckets.

Samsong is Thai whiskey. A bucket is Samsong, coke, red bull and god knows what else. They also had vodka buckets (vodka, red bull, sprite, etc) and every other kind of liquor base. They serve the mix in play buckets with straws. Our group sat down next to a roadside bar and ordered two vodka buckets and a Samsong bucket. While we were there a little kid came up with an armful of flowers. Smart kid realized that there was an equal ratio of guys to girls in our group and decided to try and get the guys to buy them for the girls. When the guys refused he challenged them to thumb wars and if he won they guy had to buy a flower. Each of the guys ended up buying a flower. That kid was GOOD, hahaha! Then the little kid started break dancing in the middle of the street. Awesome. The buckets were tasty and this was great entertainment. We just passed the buckets around until we were all proper and ready to hit a bar. We chose one that seemed to have a good vibe and went inside.

We found a large table to sit at and the waitress came to take the order. Lili and I needed to get Strongbows as is our tradition but everyone else shared a Chang Tower. Chang is a brand of Asian beer. When the tower was put down on the table it turned out to be a huge cylinder filled with Chang and a nozzle on the bottom. Everyone just served themselves.

We were there for a little while but it started to get late and we all decided to go back to Pat Pon. We went to a club called The Pink Panther where a Thai cover band was playing, of all things, country music. We left pretty quickly and went back to Shivas. It was pretty much exactly the same as the night before. We drank a great deal and danced a ton.
At that point I was quite ready to go back to the hostel so I grabbed a cab with half the group and went back to the hostel. The other half of the group went to Spicy, a bar that boasts staying open the WHOLE night. They returned around 6 am apparently. Lili and I checked out this morning but don't leave until tonight on the night train to Chiang Mai so we have to get our tired butts out to see some more stuff in Bangkok!
