Hard Day, Hard Rock Night...

I don't think I've ever been so tired.  In my entire life.  Ever.

The wake-up call came at 7:50 am.  I am impressed with myself for remembering to set it up when we got home at 6 am.  The day was absolutely beautiful.  Of course.  We got the girls schedule.  Three games at 9 am, noon, and 8:30 pm.  Some of the guys invited me to go back to South Beach for the day and hang out on the beach so I could sleep in.  However, since this trip was entirely paid for by the team, I decided to go to the games.

And I was feeling pretty good in the morning...I probably didn't crash until about halfway through the noon game.  In a last ditch effort to keep myself awake I became the team photographer.  Actually, I got some great pictures of everyone playing softball.  We made it back to the hotel in between the noon and night game and I slept for as long as I was allowed.  Forget food...I'd worry about that later.

After some debating, all but one decided to go out.  Naturally, Whit and I were in favor of one last night out.  I'll sleep when I'm dead.  :-)

We actually went back to the Hard Rock again.  What a change!  It was crowded, there were lines, we had to shove our way onto the dance floor...and in a true Dane Cook-like moment, we may have been standing in the woofer.

Haha, but in all seriousness...it was fun.  We went to Passion nightclub and danced more than we had in any of the other night.  It turns out Passion was connected to the same bar we'd been to two nights ago and we went through the tunnel to it.  There was a VIP section this time which no one appeared to be paying for.  Also, the girls that we dancing on the bar seemed to be taking the job a little bit more seriously.  As in they were actually dancing.

Eventually we found ourselves completely worn out and hopped back in the minivan.  We got back to the hotel and went to sleep...flying home today after a big end of the trip meal!

First Time in a Casino and I Didn't Gamble!

Yes, I would be extremely lame in Vegas.

Yesterday was essentially a wasted day.  We went to dinner at Outback.  It was fun, and the food was fine.  Luckily, Whitney and I had spent the whole day deciding what to wear last night, so at least that was taken care of.  Not that it didn't take us forever and a day to get ready anyway...a girl's gotta do her make-up, haha!

The boys took us to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino last night.  We pulled up in our sweet mini-van (during the day, kids and their softball equipment pile in, at night it's a party bus) and went into the hotel lobby.  Actually, I don't know if we ever saw the lobby.  We went straight onto the casino floor.  Like a ridiculous Hollywood movie, giggly women stumbled past us in Halloween costumes, men parked themselves wherever they were feeling lucky, grandparents pulled the levers on the slot machines, and neon lights and jingling noises overpowered the floor.  Sensory overload, but in a good way.

We exited the casino floor to the mall off the hotel.  It's a outdoor strip under the stars (think Paradise Island for those of you who've been to Disneyworld) with all kinds of crazy going on.  Shops along the brick walk advertised everything from tattoos to sex toys to clothing.  Truly a one-stop shop for trouble.  No, I did not go into any of them...something about alcohol and tattoo parlors screams "Regret!" at me.

Towards the end of the walk were various nightclubs.  Apparently Thursday nights in Florida are not exactly "party" nights and most were either closed or dead.  We are apparently coming back on Saturday night, so I am not worried.  Actually, it was rather nice.

Eventually we hit the last club on the strip.  I'm not actually sure of the name.  It seemed to be a part of another club, which didn't appear to be open.  I have to admit, I really wasn't feeling so curious that I needed to find out.

The bar was a giant circle, half indoors, half out.  Someone had hired girls to "dance" on the bar all night.  Once was texting on her cell phone.  Another was trying to engage the crowd by dancing with the guys.  Two were smoking cigarettes on the bar.  Toto, I don't think we're in Jersey anymore.

We got various drinks and danced a little on the floor.  I can really only take so much techno and pop remixes before I need a breather and apparently everyone else felt the same.  We headed to the outdoor side of the bar on the strip.  Whitney and I made one of the guys take pictures of us.  For forgetting our cameras, having our hair frizz out and being temporarily deafened, I'd say we look great.

Around closing time we went back.

Cross your fingers for a successful softball day!

I'm In Florida and it's..Not Nice?

We got into Ft. Lauderdale late last night, and checked into the hotel around 11 so we really didn't do anything.  Then we got to the field today and discovered we were rained out.  So, well, we're spending the day in the hotel I believe.  We'll go out for dinner with all the girls and their parents and then do something jazzy tonight.

Right now the boys are playing dominoes in our suite and Whitney and I are playing dress up.

I'm alive and well...love you all.
