Bangkok...Day 3

Well, after a night like last the only thing we could really do was go shopping. So we decided to go to Siam which is the big mall in Bangkok. It is also the RITZY mall.

As we walked in we were greeted by Hermes, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and lots of random Thai designer stores. We wandered about the fashion floors but without some seriously unlimited funds it would be difficult to buy anything on those floors. We continued to explore and finally decided that we did each need to buy a book as we were low on reading material.

The fifth floor was entirely a giant bookstore. Books in every major language were available. I bought Eldest since it finally came out in paperback. Lili bought a book by an author she really likes.

We continued on to the sixth floor which was a giant car showcase floor. There was a Ferrari showcase, a BMW showcase, a Lamborghini showcase, a Mazerati showcase and some others (we all know I am not a car person). They were fun to look at.

After that we decided to go back to the hostel, re-group and figure out what to do before it was time to be at the train station.

Think again.

We walked outside into POURING rain. Well, looks like we have to go see a movie! We decided on Transformers as it had just come out that day and we both wanted to see it.

We went to the seventh floor and looked around. There were two sets of ticket booths open so we went to the one with no line. Tickets were a bit pricey (I think we paid like $20) but it was raining and we hadn't spent much that day. We chose our seats on a screen to reserve them. Fan-cy!

The guy gave us our tickets and we walked toward our theatre. On the way we were greeted by a Thai woman who led us to a small private cafe for theatre-goers. She took our order and then led us to our seats which turned out to be two of about thirty available seats. Ours we next to each other and looked like a couch from behind. When we looked at it from the front it look more like two La-Z-Boy recliners. The woman who escorted us there put our drinks on the table in front of the chairs and motioned for us each to sit down. We did and she pulled out a packages from under each of our seats. Then she pressed a button and reclined our seats so that we were laying down. She then pulled blankets out of each of the packages and covered us up. Then she placed a pillow behind each of our heads. She then gave a quick bow and hurried out of the theatre.

So we enjoyed Transformers like no other movie we'd ever seen.

When we left the sun was shining and we were in high spirits. We returned to the hostel to tell everyone about our crazy movie experience. Apparently we accidentally bought tickets to the VIP movie (which was why there was no line) as opposed to the regular movie which was exactly as movies in the US are and are much cheaper than what we paid.

WHO CARES?!?! That was the best movie I EVER saw, hahahah!!!!!

Lili and I leave for Chiang Mai tonight...I am kinda sad to say good-bye to Bangkok, but we have another day at the end of the trip here...
